About Rae

Rae Morgan is a passionate mental health mentor to help people navigate recovery using a “game” she created from evidence-based techniques she’s learned.

Her experience with mental health started around age 11, when she went to therapy for the first time. Fast forward 20 years later, she has experienced mental health issues of varying intensities, including Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Bipolar, Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), and Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (C-PTSD).

For 17 years, therapy was not helping progress Rae’s recovery—in fact, in some cases, it led to worsening symptoms. Psychiatrists could only do so much, and her symptoms would come back every few months. Because it wasn’t working, she assumed there was something deeply broken in her. She was on-and-off suicidal from her mid-teen years, and the thoughts became louder in her mid-to-late 20s when she thought about death nearly every day.

In her late 20s, she experienced the worst depressive episode of her life and her first full-blown manic episode. Despite the despair, Rae knew there had to be a better way. She began researching neuroscience to figure out how to drive her own recovery. Rae also learned how to evaluate therapists and psychiatrists to find who could actually help.

After a few months of her new approach, she noticed huge shifts. She found that there was a formula whenever she was deepening her understanding of what was needed for recovery. Rae would set a healing goal to focus on for a few weeks, practice believing she could make that a reality, find that obstacles came up and got a little more challenging as she grew her knowledge, and eventually get a breakthrough to reach that goal—just like getting to new levels in a game. That’s how Mindful Cheat Codes was born.

When not working on Mindful Cheat Codes, Rae enjoys karaoke and trivia. Questions? Contact Rae at mindfulcheatcodes@gmail.com.
